Healthier Workplace WA

Diabetes WA is proud to be partnered with Healthier Workplace WA (HWWA). HWWA refers workplaces to the My Healthy Balance program.

HWWA is part of the Healthy Workers Initiative, a joint Australian, State and Territory Government initiative under the National Partnership Agreement on Preventative Health.

HWWA exists to help workplaces and employees improve at work by making positive health changes to knowledge, behaviours and the workplace environment.

The HWWA core objectives are:

  • Increase the number of Western Australian adults at a healthy weight.
  • Increase the number of Western Australian adults consuming fruit and vegetables.
  • Increase the number of Western Australian adults doing 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on five or more days a week.
  • Decrease the number of Western Australian adults smoking daily.
  • Decrease the number of Western Australian adults drinking too much alcohol.

They address these objectives through consultation with Western Australian workplaces, providing free support and direction in the planning and implementation of workplace health and wellbeing policies and initiatives.

HWWA is delivered by Heart Foundation WA in conjunction with Cancer Council WA and The University of Western Australia and is a proud supporter of the My Healthy Balance program. To learn more about HWWA visit www.healthierworkplacewa.com.au
